Burials ended in 1868 (the end of the Second Sino-Btitish War. However, like his compatriot, Mr San A Kim, Mr An\u00a0is not believed to be a member of the Chinese Labour Corps. More likely they were members of the Chinese Porter Corps (CPC), recruited from Southern China to support the war effort in Mesopotamia. Members of the CPC performed mainly manual work, though some skilled work was also undertaken by members of the CPC<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The operations of the CLC and the CPC were not linked in any way, they were similar only in that they involved the use of Chinese labourers to support Britain&#8217;s war effort.<\/p>\n<p>If these men were not men of the Chinese Labour Corps, then who were they?
